Yes. For Text, hold Ctrl on your keyboard and make selections. For Validation, Exception, and Sum, just stay on the same cell and make the selection — in this case, there is no need to use Ctrl.
To remove an item from the sum, select the cell with the sum, hover your mouse over the mistakenly added item, right-click it, and choose “Delete index.” The annotation will disappear, and the sum will be updated.

Yes, you can use the Show All Annotations button on the ribbon to display all references on the documents.

Files

The Files button allows you to manage documents inside the application. It lets you assign documents to groups and perform actions on many documents.
To assign a document to a group, click on the Files button on the main ribbon, select a file, go to the ‘on group of files’ section, choose the group, and click Add files. You can perform this on many documents.
To remove a document from a group, click the Files button on the main ribbon, select a file, then in the ‘on group of files’ section click Remove files. If the document is in multiple groups, it will be removed from the last one first. You can repeat this action for multiple documents.
Yes, one document can be assigned to many groups.

Yes, you should use SHIFT on the keyboard to select many documents.

Yes, you can use CTRL on the keyboard to select many documents.

 

PDF Viewer

Yes. Click the Full Screen button on the PdfViewer. To return, close the fullscreen view and the viewer will be re-embedded in Excel.
To change zoom, select the document you want to work with, hover your mouse over it, press Ctrl on your keyboard, and use the scroll wheel on your mouse.
Yes, the application remembers the zoom level set on a specific document during the active Excel session. If Excel is closed and reopened, all zoom settings are lost.
To rotate a document, hover the mouse over it, right-click, and choose one of the four available rotation options.
There are up and down arrows in the PdfViewer. Clicking an arrow moves you through the document.

Load files

Yes, you should click Files on the main ribbon and then select Load Folder.
No, actually you cannot. You should first unzip the files and then import them. We are working on it.
There are two options to import documents into IndexFrog: the first option is to use the Load Files button on the main ribbon, and the second is to use Load Files in the File window. To see the File window, click on Files on the main ribbon.
You can use most common file types, such as: PDF, PNG, GIF, and MSG.

OCR

Automatic OCR is triggered when a document does not contain a text layer (e.g., scanned PDFs or image files). Manual OCR can be initiated using the “Send to OCR” button, even if a text layer is present — e.g., to improve recognition accuracy.

A PDF may contain only partial text layers. In such cases, you should send the document to OCR manually using the ‘Send to OCR’ button on the main ribbon.

It may happen that the text layer has a different order than what you see in the PDF. In such cases, send the document to OCR manually using the OCR button on the main ribbon.

Yes, just select the document and click on ‘Extract All Tables’ on the ribbon.

Requirments

No, there are no specific hardware requirements. However, since IndexFrog runs in the Excel environment, more threads and memory improve performance. Older machines may experience Excel crashes.

Yes, there is a ‘Report Issue’ button on the main ribbon. This function redirects the user to a portal where feature requests can be submitted.

Remove files

There are two options to remove a document from the solution: one is to use the Remove File button on the main ribbon, the second is to use Remove File in the File window.

To retain the leading zero, first change the cell format to Text, and then type the number.

Export

Yes, you can use the Export button on the ribbon or the Export option in the Files window.

Other

Yes, you can. To copy a document name, hover the mouse over it, right-click, and choose the ‘Copy file name’ function.
The version is available in the Info section on the main ribbon.
Yes, only logged-in users can use IndexFrog. To log in, use your Windows credentials.
Yes, a Windows operating system must be installed on the computer along with Excel. IndexFrog works with all Windows versions supported by Microsoft and Excel 365.
